Biography:
Denji, also known as Chainsaw Man, is the titular protagonist of the manga and anime series Chainsaw Man. His first anime appearance was in the 2022 TV show adaptation of the same name.
Orphaned at a young age and burdened with his deceased father's massive debt to the Yakuza, Denji eked out a meager existence as a Devil Hunter, working alongside his Chainsaw Devil companion, Pochita. He performed jobs for the Yakuza to pay off his debts.
After being betrayed and murdered by the Yakuza, Pochita merges with Denji, granting him the ability to transform into the Chainsaw Man, a powerful hybrid being with chainsaws emerging from his head, arms, and legs. Driven by simple desires and a newfound purpose, Denji becomes a Public Safety Devil Hunter.
